IDAHO
NOT FINISHED YET!!

Idaho is a mountainous state, well known for growing Idaho Potatoes as well as producing gem stones. It still has great swaths of wilderness, lakes, hot springs a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts. It has a waterfall called Shoshone Falls which is 52 feet taller than Niagara Falls! It also has more rivers than any other state. One popular attraction is the Craters of the Moon Monument & Preserve.
It has thousands of running, walking and cycling trails along rivers and in town centres. Science and technology is the main sector, where many workers have moved from the expensive West Coast to a cheaper life in the Boise area, changing the political dynamics in Boise to more democrat leaning, whilst the rest of Idaho is still very conservative.

Boise is the capital of Idaho, surrounded by mountains, forests and rivers, with ski resorts in the winter months overlooking the city. Those of us that have visited the Basque country in Northern Spain will be surprised to see Boise Basque Town, with authentic Basque food and drink.
It's a university city so you will find a youthful feel to this city and a welcoming place for tourists and immigrants that are now living there, such as the Afghan ladies who run Sunshine Spice Cafe with amazing authentic Afghan/Persian food. other popular places to eat are:
Wilder pizza
Trillium Restaurant - America
Alavita - Italian
The Melting Pot - American
Chandlers Prime Steaks
The Basque Market - Basque food
Bombay Grill - Indian
CasaBlanca Cuban Grill - Caribbean
Tucanos Brazilian Grill
The Matador - Mexican
Mai Thai -Thai
Kibrom's Ethiopian
The Front Door Tap house - American
There are some art galleries, museums and the State capital building to visit and that is free to enter. There is also a great riverside trail called Boise Greenbelt for walking or cycling along. There is a botanical garden and there is also a Anne Frank Human rights memorial. There are lots of parks and white water rafting available nearby.

Sitting close to the Border with Washington State it is just 33 miles from the Washington City of Spokane. The city sits in a stunning valley on a crystal clear 25 mile lake surrounded by mountains. George Clooney has a home here and the scenery is similar to his lake Como home actually. It isn't a cheap resort, probably the wealthiest part of Idaho and many tourists choose to stay in Spokane and just visit Coeur D'Alene. We decided to stay in Spokane on our Yellowstone road trip stopover as we had already planned to stop in Missoula as well, so that spaced it out better from Seattle. It is worth a stop to see it though.
Sport is a main attraction, with golf, tennis, hiking, cycling and water sports very popular here. Most of the luxury resort hotels sit right along the lakeside. The main downtown area of this city was founded in 1888.
